Parks Victoria Ecological Assessment for three new parks
EcoFutures was commissioned by Parks Victoria to assess the ecological values of three proposed regional parks in Clyde, Deanside, and Werribee, delivering comprehensive reports that will guide sustainable park design and long-term management while protecting key species and ecological communities.

Supporting the creation of three new regional parks in Melbourne’s fast-growing outer suburbs, namely Clyde, Deanside, and Werribee, Parks Victoria commissioned EcoFutures to assess the ecological values of each site. These parks aim to provide local communities with greater access to green space while preserving and enhancing the natural and cultural landscapes.
EcoFutures delivered three comprehensive assessment reports, which evaluates flora, fauna, threatened species, and ecological communities across the proposed parklands. Our work combined desktop analysis drawing on biodiversity databases, government reports, and previous site-specific ecological studies, with on-ground field surveys to identify key conservation priorities.
The findings will inform sustainable park design and long-term land management, supporting the protection of native species, such as the Growling Grass Frog and the Natural Temperature Grasslands. Our work ensures that ecological values are central to the vision and development of these parks, helping to balance public access with environmental stewardship.
