Trish Chadwick is a senior ecologist with over 20 years’ experience working in private consulting and for the NSW State Government within the Department of Planning and Environment and the Hawkesbury-Nepean Catchment Management Authority. Trish has undertaken engagement with a wide range of stakeholders including traditional owners, local councils and state government departments, site operators, community groups and members of the public.
Trish is experienced in the review and dissemination of technical information for a variety of audiences, including in previous roles, media responses, preparation and publication of fact sheets for community use and documents to target provision of information to specific groups.
Trish has a background in riparian ecology and restoration. She has completed design works for stream rehabilitation and managed implementation of physical construction. Trish has also designed vegetation restoration and rehabilitation plans, including large scale weed control programs, and followed through with management of and participation in the on-ground works phases completed by contractors. She has undertaken compliance monitoring, ecological assessment, species monitoring programs, baseline surveys, general investigations, and desktop/literature reviews.
Trish is passionate about increasing the protection and improvement of habitat especially for threatened species, particularly in riparian and wetland habitats. She recognises the necessity of good communication between management authorities and scientific organisations – the connection of knowledge to action. She understands that strong communication provides the basis for successful projects.
